Pedro Almeida, from the Immunology, Cancer & GlycoMedicine group at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S), was awarded an Immunology Letters Short-term Fellowship grant by the European Federation of Immunology Societies. This grant will enable him to intern for 3 months at the Leiden University Medical Center.
His research will focus on characterizing changes in glycans present on the surface of the intestinal mucosa in the context of IBD. This internship is part of the work being developed within GlycanTrigger project.
