We are pleased to announce that Carolina Dantas, a talented researcher and PhD candidate within the GlycanTrigger project, has successfully completed her probation year at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar (ICBAS), University of Porto.
During her presentation, Carolina showcased her thesis titled “Unravelling the Role of Gut Mucosa Glycome in the Health-to-Intestinal Inflammation Transition.” Her research looks into the intricate mechanisms of the gut mucosa glycome, examining how alterations in this complex network may influence the onset of intestinal inflammation. The findings from her study could pave the way for identifying novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets, offering new insights into the early stages of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Carolina’s work reflects the commitment of the GlycanTrigger project to advance scientific understanding in the field of gastrointestinal health. We extend our congratulations to Carolina on this significant achievement and look forward to her continued contributions as she progresses with her doctoral studies.
Stay tuned for more updates on Carolina’s research and other developments within the GlycanTrigger project.
