The GlycanTrigger project took part in the European Researchers’ Night 2024, held on September 27th at i3S – Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde. This annual event, celebrated across Europe, aims to connect science with the general public.

Attendees participated in interactive activities, such as examining intestinal tissue slides under a microscope, to understand how changes in the mucosa glycome can trigger inflammation and pave the way for new IBD therapies.

Carolina Dantas, a PhD student of the GlycanTrigger project, shared, “The European Researchers’ Night is a great platform for us to communicate the importance of glycans in health and disease to the public”.

The event also showcased the project’s promotional video and featured educational games, engaging participants of all ages.
